Blog EntryMy dog, my foot, my wedgies....Jun 29, '08 4:01 PM
for everyone

At around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, Lily decided she was feeling better.

We had decided to watch a movie together on Friday night.  All but 12YO fell asleep almost right away.  We had a busy day at the waterpark and grocery shopping and we were all pretty tired.  12YO watched the rest of the movie by herself and put herself to bed.  I woke up at about 1:00 and got a few things done before I put myself and the little ones to bed.  Lily, on the other hand, wanted to play.  I took her outside to relieve herself before I put her in her crate for the night.  She started barking (which she hadn't really done before now!) and racing around the backyard in a giant figure-eight formation.  She was racing like she was totally nuts!  She would stop and hunker down like she was about to pounce on something.  I just said, "BOO!" and she started racing around again.  I quickly grabbed one of her toys, a 'rope bone' that I had picked up in anticipation of her arrival.  She chased it, grabbed it, and tossed it up in the air with pure excitement.  SHE FELT BETTER!  It's just amazing to see how quickly these critters recover from major surgery!

My foot had a great time at the waterpark on Friday, as did the rest of me!  I gave myself my very first French manicure on my tootsies and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!  Who needs to spend all that money on a pedicure?  I like to spend my money in other ways, like a new swimsuit!

Which reminds me; I need to hurry up and get ready.  I'm going to try to sneak away for a few hours and go shopping by myself.  It wasn't until we started going to the waterpark again that I realized that none of my swimsuits fit me right.  I've been wearing suits that are at least ten years old with an old pair of shorts.  The suits that fit me last year do NOT look so hot this year.  I weigh about 20 pounds or so less than last summer and, were I to bend over forward, the suit would be so loose that all heaven and earth would see my glory!  Since being at a waterpark with small children pretty much guarantees that I'll be bending over at some point, I've opted to wear the suits that are too tight, but cover me.  The bottom-portion pretty much gives me a permanent wedgie, so I just wear shorts to cover it up.  Not comfortable, but definitely suitable to be viewed by the general public!  I just need to go shopping for a suit without having three or four kids in tow either asking for things or whining about being hungry, thirsty, having to go to the bathroom, or just plain being bored!

Shopping like this requires focus, people!

Have a great day!

I know all to well the shopping for a suit senario. first we all went together, D took MM to get fathers day cards and I had LL with me... I found a cute suit in my size and went to try it on. it fit, but LL did not want to stay in the dressing room with me, then I hear D and MM come up to the area and LL makes a mad dash out from under the door all the while, MM is screaming and throwing a fit because he wants to come in with me (and I later found out he was trying to go in the wrong dressing room) so I bought the suit, wore it, and have never put it on again. I should have gone with the 2 piece tankini with the shorts, but noooo the other one was cuter and now its too short (in length, so it pulls down on my shoulders)

Yup! It's better to just go alone for that kind of shopping! Kids just don't do well when you're not shopping for them. HECK! They don't even always do so good when we ARE shopping for them!

Well, I think your feet look spectacular, even though, technically, it was one foot and the water covers it up for the most part.

You crack me up! I know what you mean though. I've lost a few inches myself and my suit is so saggy now that is just looks disgusting.

I had that problem with my suit this year too. I've dropped just shy of 20 pounds, and nothing seems to fit. Although, I do have to say, it's much more fun shopping now that I've lost the weight, and not having any kids with you just makes it so much more exciting.lol Glad Lily is feeling better and your feet look great.
